About company
the Allegro Elementary School today is a music- and reading stressed school with open and bound full day in which children in grades 1-3 in j ahrgangs above sea mountain maturing L erngruppen ( JÜL learn) and from the fourth to sixth grade in homogeneous class associations . The school change takes place after the sixth grade depending on the performance and wishes of the children and parents to grammar schools, comprehensive or integrated secondary schools, in exceptional cases a change after the 4th grade is also possible. The school catchment area belongs to the Mitte district of Berlin, Tiergarten-Süd district, and is therefore in the southeastern corner of the district. In terms of the city as a whole, the area is centrally located between City East and City West. The area has a heterogeneous usage structure. On the one hand there is a dense residential development, on the other hand there are numerous commercial enterprises with many jobs. In the north there is the Kulturforum and the Tiergarten, the largest inner-city green space in Europe, in the west the Zoological Garden and in the east Potsdamer Platz. There are therefore numerous recreational and leisure opportunities in the immediate vicinity of the school. It is also worth mentioning that the old diplomatic quarter was rebuilt in the 90s, and that the Federal Ministry of Defense with the July 20th Memorial is based here. In the south, the catchment area borders directly on the Schöneberg district, which is why many children living there also visit our school. The French grammar school is in the immediate vicinity. Around 210 boys and 230 girls are currently studying at the Allegro primary school. The school's catchment area is extremely heterogeneous in social terms - there is no such thing as “one neighborhood”, but rather differently shaped “residential islands”. A neighborhood management team was set up in 1999 to cope with the resulting social problems. Numerous measures and initiatives, as well as financial and personal support, successfully counteracted further social decline, and in January 2017 the district management ended its work. 33 teachers and 30 educators work in our school. We are supported by 3 instrumental teachers, a teacher and a trainee lawyer for Catholic religion, 3 school social workers, 3 school assistants, a secretary, an administrative manager and a caretaker. The school building is handicapped accessible and comprises 20 class and division rooms, 19 leisure rooms, specialist rooms for music, natural sciences and art, an auditorium, a library, a reading oasis, a cafeteria, a gym and other outdoor sports facilities as well as a green classroom on four floors. We are particularly proud of our park-like school grounds. Here the children can play an active role on imaginative play equipment created with the support of the neighborhood management (QM) or gain experience in the school garden. Numerous outdoor play equipment that can be borrowed expand the range.
